Long Form Video Ads
During my years at Pocket FM, I helped craft thousands of Long Form Video Ads. I started as a contractor promo writer and rose to an Editorial Lead running the entire Romance Drama writing team. Due to our success, the production value of our ads increased exponentially, as you’ll notice below. This was a very story-driven, narrative writing style meant to draw Meta users to our platform.
Our team wrote original pilot episodes of our on-app shows. These shows ran the gamut of style, genre, and target demographic. Our goal was to get listeners hooked on our stories so they’d have to continue listening on the app.
We used an iterative process based on data analytics to continually optimize our advertisements to meet our metrics goals for 3-sec and thruplay, completion, click through rate, and cost per install.
Initially, our promos ran as a single still-image thumbnail with scrolling text. As our department grew more successful, though, we started using generative AI and manual sketch to create more engaging and effective marketing materials.
As the Romance Drama Editorial Lead, I was responsible for a marketing budget worth millions of dollars, and I worked cross-functionally with Creative Leads and our production team to ensure the quality of each ad and maintained our marketing schedule.
