About Pocket FM

Pocket FM is one of the world’s leading audio streaming platforms that has expanded its reach exponentially the past few years.

With nearly $200 million in investment funding, Pocket FM specializes in bringing a variety of audio stories to its more than 200 million dedicated listeners across the globe.

Much of their growth in the United States is attributed to the work done by the growth and marketing team. I served in a hands-on managerial role that oversaw a team of writers and producers while implementing an advertising budget of millions of dollars.

Pocket FM - 10/2023 to Current

Promo Editorial Lead

  • Worked closely with the business team to develop long form marketing campaigns.

  • Managed a team of writers while working closely with creative directors and content creators.

  • Sourced, interviewed, and trained new writers while conducting performance reviews for my team.

  • Used Meta Ads Manager to track the effectiveness of every campaign.

  • Edited writers’ work and oversaw the production process of each asset.

  • Managed marketing campaigns with millions of impressions.

  • Helped grow Pocket FM’s reach in the United States to approximately 10 million users.

Originally hired as a contractor in October 2023, I had multiple roles at Pocket FM. I started as a Promo Writer where I worked under a Senior Writer. I wrote our long form promos and used Data Analytics on Meta Ads Manager to A/B test our assets.

By January 2024, I was promoted to Senior Writer. In that role, I managed a team of three writers. I oversaw our team’s pitch sessions and provided feedback on my team’s assets to ensure they met the Pocket FM’s brand guidelines.

Finally, in September 2024 after a massive round of layoffs, I joined a select few other writers and became a W-2 In-House Promo Writer. By March 2025, I was once again promoted to Promo Editorial Lead.

About Salem Media Group

Salem owned three major radio stations that broadcast throughout the Upstate of South Carolina and Western North Carolina. Each station offered specific programming to reach different targeted audiences, including a Political Talk station, 80s/90s/00s Hits Station, and Urban Gospel. Reaching millions of listeners every day, we helped local businesses with their advertising needs using radio and digital. I served as the sole copywriter helping our entire sales staff to create short and long-form radio campaigns, and I worked closely with the production and programming team to ensure the quality of our ads.

Salem Media - 08/2016 to 09/2023

Senior Copywriter

  • Worked with account executives to create short and long form advertising campaigns for local businesses.

  • Wrote individual radio ads directed at our vastly different audiences.

  • Helped local companies in various industries grow their business.

  • Worked with voice actors and SFX designers to produce our in-house advertisements.

  • Wrote for digital advertising, including email campgains, SMS touch points, and website copy.

About B12

In 2020, I joined B12, a leader in using generative AI to help clients across the world create compelling websites to help grow their businesses. Before AI came to the forefront of industry, B12 used this technology to make website creation easier. I joined as a Copywriting and SEO Expert. Over the past 5 years, I’ve helped write website copy utilizing SEO best practices, wrote SEO blogs to promote Google results for our customers, and created Content Calendars to ensure long-term campaign strategies.

About Humana

As one of the largest insurance providers in the United States, Humana’s impact on people’s everyday lives is undeniable. I joined their in-house marketing department, called The Hive, on a temporary contract to help plan and implement their 2023 open enrollment advertising campaign along with other smaller campaigns.

Humana - 08/2022 to 12/2022

Copywriter Consultant II

  • Worked across departments within The Hive to craft multi-touchpoint campaigns.

  • Wrote banner ads, text message campaigns, physical deliverables, and one-sheets for health care providers.

  • Helped create a year-long advertising campaign to promote open enrollment.

  • Ensured every piece of content met stringent readability levels to make enrollment easier for customers.

  • Participated in regular standups to track every teams’ progress as part of a sprint like schedule.

  • Worked with designers to ensure copy and graphics worked in tandem.

About AT&T

AT&T has remained one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world for many years now. With such an expansive reach across the United States, an issue they experienced was a lack of a unified brand voice. A customer would have a very different experience depending on if they were in store, talking to customer service on the phone, browsing an article online, or working with a technician on-site. I was brought on for a nearly year long contract position to help solve this issue.

AT&T - 09/2021 to 07/2022

Copywriter Consultant

  • Joined a team of copywriters to help unify AT&T’s brand voice throughout the company.

  • Created a brand voice guideline, including how we write and what graphics we use.

  • Retroactively updated existing copy to reflect our new brand guidelines.

  • Wrote and edited countless pieces of content, from user-focused blogs to internal communications.

  • Performed user interviews to understand how to implement our new guidelines while maintaining productivity throughout the company.

  • Partnered with designers to ensure a seamless experience.
